| In July 2001 our congregation (in Lesotho) gathered to
choose a direction for our mission and community life for the coming
years.
These directions are summarized in the Acts of the 31st General Chapter which are presented below |
I have come to cast fire on the earth. |

As women in the New Millennium we carry the fire of Marie Rose Durocher amid the cares and questions of our times. We dare to dance from indifference to love, from division to communion, from fragmentation to wholeness. We dare to dance justice in the face of oppression, reverence in the face of exploitation, beauty in the face of brokenness, tenderness in the face of violence. And in the face of doubt and death, we dance our belief in the living God. Since our foundation, the music of the Names of Jesus and Mary has continually given rise to the living flame of our mission. Who have we become? In the Names of Jesus and Mary, we reclaim and proclaim anew our relationships as women in Creation and women in the Church. As we engage the questions of our day and face them together, we strengthen our bonds, rediscover our identity, and deepen the prophetic sense of our call. Joyfully, we dance our way from old to new, from confusion to hope, from the "then" and the "now" toward the "not yet." Whom will we choose to become? |
